PT Description:

  • Tests and evaluates the extent of patient’s disability & plans & administers aquatic physical therapy treatment through the use of various exercise techniques & therapeutic procedures in accordance with the physician referral.

  • Actively seeks information to understand patient circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs.
  • Builds rapport and cooperative relationship with patients. Considers how actions or plans will affect patient; responds quickly to meet patient needs and resolves problems.

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluates the extent of patient’s disabilities to determine appropriate treatment programs using a variety of tests, such as manual muscle test, goniometry, functional testing, and gait analysis.
  • Plans aquatic therapy programs and administers treatment to restore body function and strength, relieve pain and prevent disability through the use of various therapeutic techniques, such as exercise programs, facilitation techniques, muscle reeducation, gait training, and utilizing the physical properties of the water.
  • Provides and demonstrates instruction to the patient.
  • Maintains medical record of evaluation, treatment, and progress for each patient.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in Physical Therapy or Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Georgia.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, customer focus abilities and the ability to understand customer needs
  • Candidate may be requested to float to any of our clinics

We are a private, PT owned outpatient clinic in Huntington Beach looking for a PTA with Aquatic and manual therapy experience.  This is a full-time position, M-F with some flexibility in your schedule.  In addition to aquatic therapy, we also offer traditional land therapy and group fitness classes open to the public 2 days per week, which could be an adjunct to your schedule.

Our patient demographics include all ages, primarily orthopedic diagnoses, joint replacements, acute/chronic pain, balance issues, general weakness, acute/chronic pain and some neuro.  PTA will work with 3 PT's from varied backgrounds and must understand the benefits and characteristics of working with patients in the warm water setting.

College of Saint Mary invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of Physical Therapy.  College of Saint Mary is a Catholic women’s university located in Omaha, Nebraska. Enrollment was 1,043 students in the fall of 2016, including 664 full-time undergraduates and 283 graduate students.

 

The Physical Therapy Program

 

College of Saint Mary is developing a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) program that uses a distinctive hybrid model of program delivery. The program will include face-to-face and online components that reflect the rigor necessary for successful physical therapy education and the flexibility that many students require because of their lifestyle. The online component of the program will allow students to complete the didactic portion of the curriculum, while the face-to-face component will afford students the laboratory experiences that support essential skills development.

 

The Director of Physical Therapy

 

The founding program director of physical therapy will report to the associate dean of graduate studies and help determine the critical details for program delivery that will enhance student success and meet the expectation of CAPTE.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following minimum characteristics and attributes:

 

  • An earned academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc., etc.)
  • Eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist in Nebraska
  • Minimum of five years of service as a full-time physical therapy faculty member
  • Academic qualifications commensurate for appointment as an associate professor or higher
  • Commitment to the development of high-quality online instructional experiences
  • Commitment to the College of Saint Mary mission as a Catholic institution in the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy

               

Other desired qualifications include prior successful leadership of a physical therapy education program and experience with online learning.
